The Management Team of GGHK2022 is pleased to announce the appointment of Tommaso Panerai as Brand & Creative Director.
With a background in Architecture, as Art and Creative Director he has previously worked between Italy and Spain providing design and advertising services for the Contemporary Art World.
Based in Hong Kong for the past 6 years he worked in a 4as Advertising Agency’s international creative team and later shifted to a Hospitality, Travel and F&B Company as in-house Head of Design, before starting his own local boutique branding and advertising agency.
Since joining the Gay Games team in late 2019, Tommaso has been responsible to update design and style of the GGHK Logo and, together with an ever-growing creative team, he will give a fresh look and feel to the upcoming new website, as well as create the Games’ Brand Identity, Visual Experience and Communication.
“I feel honoured and thankful to join this team and bring my creative experience to help craft this historical international event that is the embodiment of inclusiveness and peace in the name of athleticism: for everyone and open to anyone. This is an accomplishment that not so many decades ago could have been considered too dangerous to even dream of.
Creativity often eludes a specific definition. It can tie together ideas, imagination, and expectations with surprising and unexpected messages to make people feel at ease and intrinsically happy. It can also be leveraged to boost critical conscience by speaking a language nobody has heard before.
This may be our definition of creativity for the Gay Games 11 2022 in Hong Kong. We will translate the spirit of tenderness, cooperation, and fairness into images, colours and imagination, integrated into the courage, fun, and resourcefulness of a city that – for the first time ever in Asia – will officially celebrate our unity in diversity, revealing its real soul beyond sports, borders, and rainbows.”

The Gay Games is built upon the principles of Participation, Inclusion and Personal Best. Based on these values, since 1982, the Gay Games have brought together people from all over the world, with diversity, respect, equality, solidarity and sharing.
The Gay Games is open to participants of all ages, experience levels, sexual orientation and physical ability. The Gay Games Hong Kong 2022 will be the 11th Gay Games and will be held in November 2022. 36 sports and 11 cultural activities are planned to include more than 12,000 participants.
