Overview

Hong Kong can rightfully claim to be the world capital for Dragon Boat, so we are proud to be the city to introduce this unique paddling sport to Gay Games. Chinese canoes, or “dragons”, have been a major feature of the annual Tuen Ng Festival (Dragon Boat Festival), first celebrated in China during the Ming dynasty. Over 40 dragon boat races are held every year in Hong Kong.
