Overview

Badminton was first played in British India and derived from the earlier game of battledore and shuttlecock. Over the last century this game of speed, skill, strength and stamina has become extremely popular in Asia. Badminton was officially introduced as a Summer Olympic sport in 1992.

Events / Schedule

Schedule
  • Monday, November 6 – Wednesday, November 8. Consists of 1 days of pools and 2 days of competition.
The following Tournaments will be organised:
  • All Gender’s and Women’s Singles
  • Men’s, Women’s and All Gender Doubles
Tournament Format: Two sessions, Preliminary Rounds & Final Rounds in each category Round Robin

Categories / Divisions

Men’s, Women’s and All Gender Divisions Ability Divisions:
  • A (International, National, and Regional)
  • B+ (Competitive)
  • B- (Intermediate)
  • C+ (Recreational with competition experience)
  • C (Recreational with little competition experience)
  • C- (Recreational with no competition experience)
