Become a GGHK Champion and be a part of history
Since its inception in San Francisco in 1982, Gay Games has grown into the largest LGBTQ+ sports and culture event in the world. Now, for the first time, Gay Games will be held in Asia’s world city, Hong Kong in 2022.
Gay Games 11 Hong Kong 2022 (GGHK) brings a unique combination of sport, arts, culture, fun and community to the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. Our goal is simple: to create unity and positive attitudes that will last a lifetime for participants, supporters and the broader community in Hong Kong, Asia and beyond under our tagline “Unity In Diversity”.
If you’re passionate about sports, arts & culture, LGBTQ+ causes, inclusion and want to help GGHK in making history in Asia together, then become a local Champion to promote GGHK within your city, region or country.
How you can help as a Champion:
Attend community events as a representative of GGHK and become an advocate for the Games
Distribute GGHK marketing and promotional materials at events and relevant commercial outlets
Take pictures with GGHK promotional materials for GGHK’s social media
Engage in dialogue with the public at events, among friends and your local community
Foster partnerships with the community on behalf of GGHK
Maintain a close working relationship with representatives of the LGBTQ+/sports communities
Keep the GGHK Outreach Team up to date on your efforts regarding progress and challenges
To help you become a successful Champion, GGHK will provide you with a Champions kit, access to collateral to help you promote the Games, and regular catch ups with your fellow Champions from around the world.
This is a volunteer position and the commitment expected will depend on the area and the time available, which can be agreed with the Outreach Director during the application process.
