Position Summary
The GGHK Production – Digital & Tech Delivery Workstream includes teams for Customer Experience, UI/UX Design, Technology, Infrastructure, and IT Support. We have a vacancy for an exciting new role in the Technology team!
The Digital Content Manager will be part of the Technology team, forming the linking pin between our Marketing team who will provide contents and design, and our Technical experts who will ensure an optimal configuration of the our GGHK web application platform. In his/her/their role, the Digital Content Manager will help manage all web content management systems. This includes items like our WordPress CMS for marketing website as well as content hosted in any of our additional platforms for sports registration and events ticketing.
In addition to functioning as the source of truth for all digital content management, our Digital Content Manager will also be responsible for managing role-based access for other team members, handling change requests, supporting the translation process for new content, and reviewing changes between sandbox, staging, and production environments.
This role will report to the Director of Technology.
GGHK expects 12,000 participants and 75,000 supporters to join in 36 different sports competitions, a 40,000 visitor opening ceremony, a week-long festival village, and an exciting Arts and Culture program in November 2023.
Key activities:
- Stay informed and consult with relevant vendors to continuously support our WordPress (WP) Marketing website and other CMS platforms
- Serve as the centre-of-expertise for all content management processes
- Collate the functional requirements for the gghk2023.com website from all internal GGHK stakeholders.
- Work with our Technology team to optimise the performance and scalability of all technology and web application platforms hosted in the cloud.
- Identify the most suitable configurations, appropriate third-party integrations and content settings to best meet functional requirements and optimise all user experiences.
- Manage content change requests – support marketing team to allow some functional autonomy to make changes and updates themselves
- Craft and support a translation management process and support any volunteers from the translation team to convert any single-language content to multilingual: English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese
- Support the Director of Technology with any third-party vendor relationships
- Coordinate the integration, testing, implementation, support, socialization and training for any new software or features
- Keep all elements and integrations of our CMS environments updated and compatible.
- Keep track of available software updates and test for compatibility before deployment
- Develop and deliver appropriate training and support to team members
Key skills
- Diversity and Inclusion Awareness
- Knowledge of, and experience with relevant IT technologies and data management protocols
- Ability to self-manage and follow project management paradigms such as SCRUM
- Excellent partnership skills and business acumen
- Communication skills in English.
- Cantonese is a plus! Mandarin is also great! Any/all Chinese language skills are also priority!
Location
- GGHK has successfully adopted a work-from-home mode of operation. Your physical location is less relevant.
- Although most colleagues operate in the Hong Kong time zone, you may be in contact with volunteers and counterparties from all over the world.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a volunteer position.
- Typically the Technology team has locked into a schedule that supports off-hours working requirements for many volunteers who also have FTE engagements
- Hours of commitment may vary, however typically Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings are established times for regular meeting cadences and collaborative sessions
